70606-0008 - Women

Inside Meiji 1890s Unknown
A woman is lying half-naked on a “futon”, her head is resting on a high pillow (hakomakura) to protect her hairstyle. There is a tobacco tray, two books and a fan in front of her and an “andon” lamp behind her. The woman next to her is smoking a long “kiseru” pipe. On the far right is a screen or clothes rack with what appears to be an “obi”, used to tighten a kimono. See blog entry.

This is exactly the same lay-out as 80302-0081-PP – Women.
