Imperial Army Academy (陸軍士官学校, Rikugun Shikan Gakko) in Tokyo. Established as the Heigakko in 1868 (Meiji 1) in Kyoto, the school was moved to Ichigaya, Tokyo in 1874 (Meiji 7) and renamed. It was the Imperial Japanese Army’s principal school for training officers.
