Mount Aso (阿蘇山, Aso-san) in Aso Kuju National Park (阿蘇くじゅう国立公園), Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyushu spewing smoke. It is Japan’s largest active volcano and has one of the largest caldera in the world (25 km north-south and 18 km east-west). The volcanoe’s peak is 1592 m above sea level.
