Shizuoka Meiji 1880s Kimbei Kusakabe
Kamaguchi-bashi Bridge (釜口橋), a suspension bridge made of Fuji (Wisteria) vines and planks, in Fujinomiya (富士宮), Shizuoka Prefecture, ca.1880s. The bridge spanned the Kamaguchi Gorge (釜口峡, Kamaguchikyo) on the Fujigawa River. During the Edo Period (1603-1868), this was the only bridge over the river.
