110707-0059 - Festival Float

PURCHASE A LICENSE

Gunma Meiji 1900s Unknown
A danjiri festival float at the Takasaki Sanja Matsuri (高崎山車まつり) held from August 2 to 4 in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. The lanterns carry the characters for Kusunokikou (楠公) signifying the float as being from Minami-machi (南町). The float was replaced in October, 1924 (Taisho 13), so this photo dates from before that year.
