Kobe Taisho 1920s Unknown
The United States Consulate on 5 Kaigandori (also known as the Bund) in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. The small consulate was located here through 1921 (Taisho 11), next to the Oriental Hotel, partly visible on the right. In 1922 (Taisho 11), the Kobe Office of Osaka Shosen Kaisha (大阪商船) was constructed here.

This lot has quite a history. It was originally used by Teikoku Shoukai (帝国商会), and later by the Netherlands Trading Society. During the 1880s, the German, Italian, Russian and Swiss consulates were located here.

This building is also visible on 70518-0022, 70531-0010, 71205-0004 and 101004-0009.
