70209-0009 - Kobe Tower

Kobe Showa 1920s Unknown
Kobe Tower stood in Minatogawa Park in Aratachou 1-chome, Hyogoku, Kobe. It was opened in 1924 (taisho 13). At 90 meters tall, it stood 100 meters above sea level. Amazingly, the tower survived the air raids of WWII. However, by the 1960s, the tower had seen its best days and it was torn down in 1968. Kobe Port Tower, located in Kobe Port, built in 1963 took over its role as symbol of Kobe.
