Nagasaki Meiji 1890s Kuichi Uchida
Two men are looking out on Nagasaki Harbor at Akunoura (飽の浦). The building on the right is the government-owned Nagasaki Iron Foundry (官営の長崎製鉄所). Japanese photographer Kuichi Uchida photographed this when Emperor Meiji visited Nagasaki in 1872 (Meiji 5). The imperial ship can be seen on the left.
