Stone steps leading to Mayasan Tenjo-ji (仏母摩耶山天上寺), aBuddhist temple in Nada-ku in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. It is located on Mount Maya (摩耶山). According to tradition, Tenjo-ji was established by the semi-mythical monk Hodo (法道) during the Asuka period (538 – 710). The temple was burned by a pyromaniac in 1975 (Showa 50).
