PURCHASE A LICENSE

Hokkaido Meiji 1870s Baron Raimund von Stillfried
Ainu houses in Hokkaido. The walls and roofs were made of ditch reeds (ヨシ) and or cogon grass (カヤ). On the right is the main house, called the omoya (母屋). Next to it is the maegoya annex (前小屋). The pole in front of the house was most probably used to hang and dry fish.
