Kobe Meiji 1880s Kozaburo Tamamura
Kobe seen from a location in the mountains, close to where Shin-Kobe Station is located today. The broad street in the center is Takimichi (Waterfall Road, now known as Flower Road). On the far left a sliver of green is visible. This is the recreation ground built for foreign residents of Kobe on the former bank of the Ikutagawa River. The Kobe Club was located here. It is now known as Higashi Yuenchi. See blog entry.
