Postcard showing various services of the Japanese post office to promote Communications Day (逓信記念, Teishin Kinenbi) on April 20, 1937 (Showa 12).

The day was inaugurated in 1934 (Showa 9) to commemorate the founding of the modern Japanese Postal Service on April 20, 1871. Since 1950 (Showa 25), the day is known as Post Office Day (郵政記念日, Yuusei Kinenbi).
