Poster for the Great Nankoku-Tosa Exhibition (南国土佐大博覧会, Nankoku Tosa Daihakurankai) held in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, from March 20 through May 5, 1937 (Showa 12). The exhibition, organized by Kochi City, celebrated the opening of the Dosan Railway (土讃線, Dosan-sen)—therefore the image of the locomotive—and promoted local industry. At the same time, the new Nankokubashi Bridge (南国橋) across the Kagamigawa River (鏡川) was opened. |
