Advertising postcard with an illustration of a man exhorting people to read Gendai (現代), published by Dai-Nippon Yubenkai (大日本雄辯会, Greater Japan Oratorical Society).

The Japanese publishing company Kodansha is a spin-off of the Dai-Nippon Yubenkai and still publishes magazines called Gendai.

The caption reads, “People wake up. Read Gendai!”
