Issued: December 1, 1951 (Showa 26) Design: Portrait of Korekiyo Takahashi (高橋是清, 1854–1936), a Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1921 (Taisho 10) to 1922 (Taisho 11), and as the head of the Bank of Japan and Ministry of Finance. He was assassinated by rebelling military officers in the February 26 Incident of 1936 (Showa 11). |
