Japanese propaganda postcard featuring a satirical caricature expressing the government’s concerns about the perceived dangers of pacifism, published sometime between March 1907 (Meiji 40) and March 1918 (Taisho 7).

The illustration shows a civilian who has cast his military uniform aside to enter a trap containing “peace” as its bait. A foreign businessman and military officer are watching from afar.
