Jiji Manga (時事漫画), a comics supplement developed by famed Japanese artist Kitazawa Rakuten (北澤 保次, 1876–1955), often called the ‘father of manga’. Issue 255 of March 8, 1926 (Taisho 15). Jiji manga was first published by daily newspaper Jiji Shinpo (時事新報) in January 1902 (Meiji 35). It grew into a full-color Sunday supplement in the 1920s. Publication ended in October 1932 (Showa 7).
