Two men are stretching their arms around the bronze temple bell of Chion-in temple in Kyoto (方広寺大鐘). Three children stand between them. Frames for sensu fans are drying in the foreground. In the background is Chion-in’s Buddha Hall (大仏殿). It burnt down in 1973 (Showa 48). The bell was cast in the early 17th century and was 4.5 meters high. |
