This postcard, ca 1902, of a Japanese boy with the Japanese flag and a western boy with the British flag celebrates the Anglo-Japanese Alliance. The alliance was first signed on January 30, 1902 (Meiji 35) and extended in 1905 (Meiji 38) and 1911 (Meiji 44) before expiring in 1921 (Taisho 10).
