Hiroshima | Meiji | 1900s | Unknown |
Aioibashi Bridge (相生橋) in Hiroshima. The wooden bridge was first built in 1878 (Meiji 11). Together with the streetcar bridge (木橋の電車軌道専用橋) visible on the right, it was washed away in a flood in 1919 (Taisho 8). Aioibashi Bridge was rebuilt, but replaced by a ferro-concrete structure in 1932 (Showa 7). |
