Aerial view of Yamakuni River (山国川) and Yabakei-machi (耶馬溪町), a town that was located in the Shimoge District (下毛郡) of Oita Prefecture in Kyushu. On March 1, 2005 Yabakei, along with other towns, was merged into the city of Nakatsu (中津市). Yabakei is known for its beautiful autumn leaves, a legendary tunnel, and Rakanji, a temple built onto a mountainside.
