Torioi (鳥追女), a female musician. Torioi went from door to door receiving money for wishing the house and its occupants well. They wore distinctive amigasa hats (編笠) and played the shamisen. Customs like these were called Kadozuke-gei (門付芸), literally “arts at the gate.”
