Yokohama Meiji 1880s Kimbei Kusakabe

Yatobashi Bridge (谷戸橋) and Horikawa (堀川) in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. The bridge was replaced with a steel structure in 1887 (Meiji 20).

The partially visible building on the right is the Grand Hotel. The house with the triangular facade next to the bridge is the residence of missionaries James Curtis and Clara Hepburn (1815-1911 and (1818-1906).
