A traveller rests on the Sugebashi Bridge (管橋) spanning the Kisogawa River (木曽川) at Yabuhara Juku (藪原宿), the thirty-fifth of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendo (中山道), now located in Kiso (木曽), Nagano Prefecture.

The Nakasendo was one of the two routes that connected Edo (modern-day Tokyo) to Kyoto.
