Outside | Taisho | 1910s | Ueda Studio |
Two women gathering shells at the seashore at low tide. This was a common and popular past-time in Japan until the water became too polluted. Recently, this customs is making a comeback at places where beaches have been sufficiently regenerated. This postcard was published sometime between March 1907 (Meiji 40) and March 1918 (Taisho 7). |
