The Post Office in Umegasaki (梅香崎) in Nagasaki’s Oura foreign settlement (大浦居留地).

The post office moved here from Motodaiku-machi (本大工町) in 1875 (Meiji 8).

In front, danpeibune barges (団平船) loaded with coal can be seen. These were used to coal the ships that anchored in the city’s harbor.
