Cars and Western style buildings at Maemachi street (前町) in the former Foreign Settlement (元居留地) of Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture.

The photographer stood in Akashimachi street and pointed his camera east into Maemachi towards Kyomachi.

The impressive building on the right is the Osaka Shosen Kaisha building (大阪商船) on 5 Kaigandori. The dark building behind it is the Oriental Hotel on 6 Kaigandori. This is a rare photograph showing the back of these buildings.
