Kobe Showa 1920s Taisho Hato Studio

The Kobe Eiko Church of the United Church of Christ in Japan (日本基督教団 神戸栄光教会), located in Yamate, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture.

The gothic building was completed in 1922 (Taisho 11).

It was destroyed by the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995 (Heisei 7). The rebuilt church, designed by Nikken Sekkei (日建設計), was completed in 2004 (Heisei 16).

The building on the right is the Hyogo Prefectural Office. The French Renaissance style building was designed by renowned architect Hanroku Yamaguchi (山口半六, 1858-1900) and completed in 1902 (Meiji 35).
