The Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo soon after construction in 1935 (Showa 10). The market had previously been located qat Nihonbashi, but was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake (Kanto Daishinsai) of September 1, 1923 (Taisho 12).
