Chinese artisans making straw rain coats in Mukden, Manchuria during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905). The Battle of Mukden (奉天会戦, Hoten kaisen) was fought between Japanese and Russian forces between February 20 and March 10, 1905 (Meiji 38). It was one of the largest land battles to be fought before World War I and the last and the most decisive major land battle of the Russo-Japanese War. The city is now called Shenyang.
