Chion-in Temple (知恩院) in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto.

The temple is the headquarters of the Jodo Shu (Pure Land Sect) founded by Hounen (1133-1212).

The original temple was built in 1234. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times.
