Fishing boats are lined up along the beach at Tomioka (富岡) in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. The beach was located near Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine (富岡八幡宮) and was popular for bathing with both high-ranking Japanese government officials and foreign residents. This scene has long vanished, the beautiful seashore has been completely developed for industry and housing. IMPORTANT |
