Kobe | Showa | 1920s | Unknown |
A view on Kobe Port. The large building in front is the Kobe Water Police Station (神戸水上警察署, Kobe Suijo Keisatsusho) on Kaigandori, also known as the Bund. The building was completed in 1925 (Taisho 14) and used by the Kobe Water Police, Kobe Customs and the Osaka Communications Department (大阪逓信局). The boats are so called hashike (艀), barges used to load and unload ships moored offshore. |
